    Grandmothers With Grand Designs

    (I laugh at a text from a friend.)

    Grandmother: “What are you laughing at?”

    Me: “A text from my friend, Alex.”

    Grandmother: “Is this a boy Alex, or a girl Alex?”

    Me: “A boy Alex.”

    Grandmother: “Well, then get him drunk enough that you can convince him the two of you got married. You should have made me a great-grandmother by now!”
