Birthing A New Birth Control Method
(I am about 8 years old. A family friend has recently had a baby, and my mom has been in the medical profession a number of years.)
Me: “Mom, how is a baby born?”
(She looks at me, gives a small smirk, and walks over to the bookcase and pulls out a very large medical journal, flips open to a chapter, and hands it to me.)
Mom: “Here, sweetie.”
(I take it and sit down. There are pages and pages of full color photographs and diagrams of pregnancy and childbirth.)
Me: *shrieks* “Ew!”
Mom: “Now remember that for when you’re older, honey.”
